3. Letter “L” is the third letter of the word HOLINESS, and it stands for LOVE. Romans 13vs8-10

Any claim to Holiness without the exhibition of Christ-like love is not Holiness. To be holy, you must show the love of God. God Himself exhibited His love towards us by sending His Son to die for us. John 3vs16

Our God is both holy and loving; that is why, as the representative of God on earth, you must show agape love to people around you, and in all you do. We must exhibit a vertical love towards God and a horizontal love towards humanity.

This agape love can be shown when you are selfless and sacrificial in your approach, when you think of the goodness of others at all times, and not your self-centeredness. When you live in this kind of love, it will attract men to you and ultimately to Jesus Christ, our Lord. Jesus willingly left heaven to die for you and me because of His love. 1 John 2vs10-11. If you truly want to make heaven, you must live in love because our God is love.

4. The letter “I” stands for IRREPROACHABLE OR IRREPROACHABILITY. Luke 1vs6

To be holy, you must live a blameless life. The lives of the people in the above Bible passage (Zacharias and Elizabeth) were blameless both before God and men.

Stop saying God only looks at the heart; let people also see holiness in your act. Abstain from sin at all times; weigh any intended actions in the light of God’s word before acting, and always yield yourself to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 5vs16, James 1vs25

CONCLUSION: Just like our anchor Bible passage said, without peace and holiness, no one can see God; and as we have established it earlier in this message that Christianity is a journey, we are all in a journey, and one of the tools we need in this journey is Holiness which is why we are critically looking at what the word HOLINESS stand for; but something is important that you need to understand, you need to know that there is no way you can live holy without Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ in you is the grace and ability to stand firm in holiness. The spirit of Jesus Christ (Holy Spirit) in you will help you to focus on heaven, the spirit in you will aid you to live in love with people, the spirit of Jesus will help you to live a blameless life, and he will help you to live a life of order. If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, please do so today because Jesus left His throne in heaven and came to this world of sin and chaos to save your soul. Jesus loves you and He is mindful of you, come to Him today and you will never regret doing so. Jesus is the way.
