This life is a race; it is a journey filled with both good and bad. In this journey called life, it has been ordained that you will meet pleasant and unpleasant people; that is why you need to be connected to Jesus, who is the life himself. When you are in the camp of Jesus Christ, whatever challenges you face in the journey, you need grace to overcome them. Jesus said he had given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10vs19. He gave you this dominion and power because he understands that this life is a journey, you are going to be faced with many pleasant and unpleasant surprises.
In John 16vs33, he said “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”. The passage is saying that, you are a child of God or born-again Christian, does not mean that you will not face the ups and downs of life; that you have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as a youth or young adult does not mean that you will not experience the wind of life.
But as much as you are still on the journey called life, there are some things you must know and do so that you can be an overcome in this journey.
You need to understand that struggling is part of the journey, and in your struggling season, there is something that God wants you to learn. There are messages that God wants you to know, and if you do not know them, your promotion may be delayed.
What you learn in your struggling season will be a useful tool in your next level. 1 Samuel 22vs1-2. David learnt how to become a true leader (king) in the cave of Adullam when he had those people with him; David became a true warrior in his distress season, and through that season, he built mighty men. 2 Samuel 16vs6.
This life is a journey, and part of the journey of life is a struggling season; before you start flying in life, you must crawl first but when you are crawling, you need to learn what you need to learn because the knowledge you gathered when you are still a caterpillar, you need it when you become a butterfly.
Another thing you must know in this journey is, you must not use yourself anyhow today because of your tomorrow. That you are going through something today should not be the yardstick to sell yourself cheap. Psalms 82vs6 says you are god. You have the DNA of God in you, that is why you must learn not to sell yourself cheaply in this life, because whatever you are going through now which is not pleasant is just preparing your greater future.
Don’t create a monster that will be hurting your future because of your experience. Genesis 25vs27-34. Esau sold himself cheaply because of what he was experiencing in that moment; he created a monster that hunted his life after. Do not because of what you are going through (trouble, challenges, poverty, etc) as a youth or young adult and create a bigger problem for your future generation. Do not, because of the moment of enjoyment in this journey called life, sell off your God given dominion, power, and authority.
