Matthew 5vs13-16 says “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; nor doth it give light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glory your father which is in heaven”.
In the above Bible passage, our Lord Jesus Christ likens you and me to be Light; and the truth is, light is an object of influence, because light attracts attention and creates an atmosphere for better influence. You are to sweeten the lives of people around you. You are not just called the salt of the world for name-calling; you are the salt of the world because you have been made to give meaning to your world. Everything you need to influence and make a greater impact in the world has been imputed to you in creation; all you need to do is identify the area in which you are made to influence your generation.
There are seven mountains of influence that you need to identify as a child of God; identifying them is your first step, and the second step is staying put on that mountain in order for you to influence your world as the light and the salt of the earth. The seven mountains are listed below for more understanding:
1. Mountain of Business: Just like Isaac in the Bible, you have the capacity through Jesus Christ, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to be in control of the business world as a child of God and as a youth. If you have that ability to rule in the Business world because you are carrying the DNA of God, you are created in his image, and whatever God can do, you have the capacity and the ability to do more. John 14vs12.
You have the ability to create just like your Father (God) in heaven; all you need is to be in control of the business world that has been given to you; those skills and ability are in you already, all you need to do is to activate them. Isaac was also planning to seek for greener pastures like others, but because he was connected to God the Almighty, God told him to stay put; and the bible says Isaac sow in the same land and he reaped a hundred-fold, in the same year when farmers are experiencing famine. Genesis 26vs1-16. This Bible passage gave us the true picture of Isaac as a great and successful business man because he did not disconnect himself from God.
2. Mountain of Government: Daniel in the Bible is a typical example of a person who ruled in the mountain of Government. He had influence in the Government, and the influence cut across reign of many kings. Daniel was a man whom no king tried to joke with in Babylon. Daniel positioned himself with God (Daniel 1vs8) because he understood that the God factor in every situation is important.
You are made a child of God and a representative of God to be in control and to be a mountain of influence in government. You are the light of the world; you have to bring the light of truth, justice and fairness into the activities of the government. Daniel stood on the truth and fairness, which was why he could reign with many kings in Babylon. He did not compromise his faith; he did not bury his faith and belief system on the altar of greed and corruption. Daniel 6vs1-28. You are in that position not for yourself, but for God. You are an ambassador of God in that community, city and government, and all your dealings must project your President and Commander in Chief of the heavenly hosts and the earth.
