Based on prevalent circumstances, it is very obvious that the war in our world today is the war or battle for power. The war has shifted from acquiring territories to supremacy which is the war for power.

The reality now is that; the war is not limited to nations of the world. It has degenerated into an individual war that most of the youths of my generation have now engaged themselves in. They call these sets of youth the Gen-Z. They are now deeply involved in this war for power.  This war for power can be divided into three; financial power, political power and spiritual power. This Gen-Z generation understands that without these three forms of power, it will be very difficult to be relevant in the society. Therefore, they engage themselves in so many things that are against God and Humanity.

The race to get the financial power by the youth has made many to run out of the presence of God even when the word of says;“The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it”. (Proverbs 10vs22). Another passage of the Bible also says;“The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich; He bringeth low, and lifteth up”(1 Samuel 2vs7).

As youths, we need to understand what the two passages above are saying. What the word of God above is simply saying is that; we cannot get true financial power as children of God if we do not stay and abide in the presence of God. Psalm 16vs11 says;“Thou will shew me the path of life! In thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”. In the presence of God lies the ability to have the true financial power.

Jesus Christ our Lord understood that nobody can have the pure and true spiritual power out of the presence of God, that was why he asked the disciples to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit because that will be the only means to receive the spiritual power needed for the journey of their lives (Acts 1vs3-9). The word of God in the book of Acts 2vs1-4 says; “the disciples held on to the word of Jesus and they waited in the upper room until they receive that spiritual power that has been promised”.

Daniel in that book of Daniel 1vs3-21 was a youth like you and I, he held on to the presence of God because he understood that nobody can get the true and real political power without the presence of the Lord God Almighty. King Solomon also was a youth like us, he did not rely on the connection and weapons of war that were available at his disposal, he ran to the presence of God to ask for the political power which is embedded in the wisdom of God (2 Chronicles 7vs11-22).

As a youth, You need to know that it is not until you get your hands dirty or soaked with the blood of a fellow human like yourself before you can get these powers we are talking about; if you can abide in the presence of God, if you can dwell daily in the presence of God, you will discover that you will be encapsulated with these powers without struggling for them.

The presence of God is what you need as a youth or as a child of God in order to get these three sets of power. Moses in that book of Exodus 33vs1-6 understood the meaning and importance of God’s presence. That was why he said; “If the presence of God will not go with him, he was not ready to go anywhere”. The presence of God carries more grace and power than the presence of an Angel of God, Angels only act based on the instructions given to them by God. If there is any need to do beyond the instructions that have been given, he will need consultations but with the presence of God, everything is settled.

HOW CAN YOU DWELL IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD?

  • Be Born Again: I am not talking about going to church here neither am I talking about bearing a Christian name but what I am saying is being a true child of God who has been redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross. Before you can enjoy the presence of God through which you can possess the powers that we are talking about, you need to belong and you can only belong after you might have surrendered your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ by accepting him as your Lord and personal Savior (John 1vs12).

Being born again is to be saved from the power of sin and to be sure of making it to heaven, the city of God on the last day (John 14vs1-3). Your soul is very important to God and if you will lose it in exchange for the powers that will only last but for a while, the regret will be monumental (Mark 8vs36-38).

  • Live Holy: The Bible says; “Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the King’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank” (Daniel 1vs8). If we want to interpret that passage above, it means Daniel chose to remain holy for God, he made that decision not to do what people of the world think is right, he held on to God and the ways of God. At the end, he was crowned with the power to rule.

Joseph said to Potiphar’s wife that how can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God (Genesis 39vs9). Joseph understood that living in sin or unholy life is wickedness against God and whoever acts against God cannot enjoy the benefits and blessings that flows from the throne of God.

Another thing that can give you direct access to true and real political power, financial power and spiritual power that emanates from the presence of God is living a Holy life (Psalm 24vs3-5). Without pure heart and holy hand, you cannot access the presence of God to receive these powers that we are talking about.

  • Study The Word: When you study the word of God, you will have the knowledge of God and His presence. When you study the word of God, you will know His commandments and His instructions on how to access the power in His presence (2 Timothy 2vs15).

The word of God is God himself and there is no way that you carry the word of God in your life that you will go against Him (Psalm 119vs11). The word of God is very important to your living as youths and children of God. Without the word of God in you, you are just another prey in the cobweb of the world. Give yourself to the study of the word and you will start enjoying the grace and power that flows from the His presence.

  • Pray: As the song says “Prayer is the key, prayer is the key, prayer is the master key, Jesus started with prayers and ended with prayers, prayer is the master key”. I have not seen a man that goes far in the journey of purpose and destiny without prayers. The word of God says; “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5vs17).

How hot your prayer life is will determine how powerful you will be in life. If you truly want the powers from the presence of God, then you cannot afford to joke with prayers because that is what your life will depend on. Our Lord Jesus Christ who is God himself understood the place of prayer that He went to Gethsemane to pray when He was here on earth (Mark 14vs32-41). Enough of partying and clubbing, enough of acting on your human reasoning because a logical thinker cannot act on the word of faith. Arise and pray for you not to be a prey.

  • Live In Peace With People: If you are the type that always claim your right, it will be very hard for you to live in peace with people around you. You need to understand that where you are going is far as a youth, and if you do not let go of somethings, they may serve as what will be dragging you backward from moving towards accessing the blessings in His presence (Hebrews 12vs14).

As a child of God, you need to live in peace with people because if you are a trouble maker and God empowers you with the power in His presence, you will injure yourself with that power in the process of exercising the powers.

CONCLUSION: The real powers are in the presence of God. As a child of God, do not allow the system of the world to push you to deep or stain your hands with blood or evil because you want powers. The word of God says;“no man receive anything except the Lord give it to him”. If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, you have the opportunity to do so now before it will be too late.

Jesus loves you so much, it is not His pleasure or His wish that you perish and that was why he died for your sake on the cross because he loves you; come to him now and embrace the love of God for your life. Come to Jesus Christ today and start enjoying the power and grace in His Presence.
