“…….he that believeth shall not make haste. Isa 28:16 KJV

Calmness is needed in every approach to life. If you really want to get there with peace and strength. The above scripture tells you if you believe, definitely you will not be in haste. In other words, those in haste do not believe. When you trust in the Lord, you will walk through all odds.

There was a day when my son spoke with me on the phone from the United States, he said; “Daddy, I want to eat a chicken nugget”. I responded; “don’t worry when you come back from school, you will get it”. Okay Daddy, he replied. He didn’t care to know the distance between us, then I was still in Nigeria. I just spoke with my wife, his Mom to please get him a chicken nugget.

My point is, he was so calm because he trusted the voice of his Dad. Read through the scripture and see when God promised he would never disappoint. Every individual who stood on the promises of God saw it come to fulfillment.

Sarah laughed. I want to believe when she got pregnant, she was in awe, asking herself; Sarah are you sure you’re pregnant? She kept laughing in her closet until she said; “God has made me to laugh”, Genesis 21:6.

However, an anxious person gets things done in the wrong perspective because God is not always found in their table of context. Rather they seek their selfish interest.

Saul was not calm when Prophet Samuel delayed his appointed time to him at Gilgal, in 1 Samuel 13:8-13. He should have enquired from the Lord what the next step of action should be, but he did foolishly. Scripture instructed us to be careful for nothing instead we should make our request known to him in prayer and thanksgiving.

Every man of prayer will always find comfort in each step he takes, David is our classic example.

6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

8 And David inquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 1 Sam 30:6-8 KJV

Don’t ever allow depression to get you out of the way without asking for direction. The direction will make you a director and will trigger unprecedented achievement. While you’re still here, you don’t have to dwell unnecessarily on your past mistakes. You can also make a definite record-breaking history if only you are willing to shake off and start on a new note.

A few days ago, I told myself that if I want to keep my family and also enjoy my marriage, I must learn to be calm. I stand to be corrected, 50 percent or more women are not calm. Whenever things are not working as planned, they get upset, burst out in spontaneous utterances, and get extremely perturbed. If you as a man and husband is not sensitive, you will be frustrated. In such a case, just be calm and ask for godly wisdom of approach.

Another person is Ruth. She was so calm and also trusted in the Lord God of Israel even when her mother-in-law discouraged her, she only trusted in the Lord God. She wasn’t thinking about children nor was she thinking about her husband, because they were her first source of joy and they all failed.

Naomi: Ruth you don’t need to follow me back to Israel, there is no hope in me neither could you find fulfillment through me.

Ruth: I am not following you, Naomi!

Naomi: Really?

Ruth: yes, but you’re just a connector.

Naomi: Connector what do you mean?

Ruth: Through you, I am getting hooked up to almighty God, although you may not trust him because of all you went through in our nation. As for me Ruth, he is my strength and comfort, I am so calm to depend on him because I trust he will rewrite my story.

Gideon, where is your trust? Angel would have asked him and Gideon’s response was, “…behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.” Judges 6:15 KJV

Apparently, his trust wasn’t in the Lord but in the financial instability of his father's house. I am not saying your family’s financial strength is not important but when God is your major trust, every other thing is insignificant.

From time memorial, God has never used the qualifier, he qualified those he used. When our focus is on our strengths, there is a limit to what we will achieve. In fact, you will never believe God’s grace resides around you and in you. You possess the ability to manifest God’s fullness concerning your life and destiny.

Like you saw what happened to Gideon from the scripture.

Judges 6:11-12

11 And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. KJV

Until you begin to see yourself as the Lord sees you, you may never enter into your rest. You’re destined to champion revival in your community, organization, and family. Heaven depends highly on you, don’t ever disappoint your generation.

I don’t know much about you but I know you’re a man and woman of valour and value.  If only you trust in the Lord you will be surprised what he will make out of you. For some of us, until God himself separates us from our so-called friends and family background, we may not be able to get to the peak of our destiny.

You just checked through your account balance, you thought all is gone. No, you’re just about to enter into great fulfillment. Only look up to God for your supply, he will never disappoint you.

Victory is not in the multitude of qualifications or degrees. If it is, all our professors should have become aircraft owners. It’s better to get the right qualification or degree to improve your learning than to improve your earnings. When you improve your learning, you will soon become a lender and leader. To those who improve to earn, they will always end up as employees. Whenever you’re calm, a unique idea will drop into your mind to set you at the edge in every aspect of life.
