Acts 2vs1-4, Acts 2vs14-21.

Holiness is needed - Psalm 24vs3-5, Job 17vs19.

Your holy living is required if you desire this power of God. Holiness is the first requirement that you need as a child of God who has surrendered his or her own life to Jesus Christ, this is because new wine cannot be poured into the old wineskin. You have to make yourself clean through the blood of Jesus Christ for you to receive this power, it is very necessary.

You have to thirst for it.

The Apostles were thirsty for power, they were hungry for power that was why they had to gather in the upper room to ask for it. God has to see your pure desire for the power, he has to see your hunger for the power before he could release it upon you and your motives must be pure if you must receive the power; you are not receiving the power to become an emperor but to become a servant of the people for you to be true leader. Acts 8vs17-20.

Ask for it -  Matthew 7vs7-11, Jeremiah 29vs12-13.

God is a wonderful God, he said you should ask that you will receive. Not until you ask that God can release the power because he has given you the ability to choose, and you can choose to ask or not, the choice is yours but the truth is, God is waiting for you to ask because he wants to release on you the full measure of the Holy Spirit (Power) if you ask for it.

Believe that you have received it and put it into use.

It is one thing to ask, it is another thing to believe that you have received. In as much as it is not what you can see with your physical eyes, and God has said when you ask you will receive, the next thing is for you to have the mind that you have received it and put it to good use.

It is of no use for you to receive what you will not use because whatever you get from God is not only for your benefit alone, it is also for the good of people around you. Now that you have the power of God in you, you have to make good use of it for you to experience increase.

CONCLUSION: Appreciating God always for giving you the power and making use of it the way God wants it is that you can maintain and sustain the power. When you use it for the good of humanity, you are telling God that you appreciate what he gave to you but when you use your power to oppress people, you are ironically blaming God for giving you the power.

Whatever power you have; political power, economic power, academic power, social power, financial power, technological power, etc, you need to have the mind that you are giving such power for the growth and betterment of the society and people around you. You are not given the power to lord over people or to oppress or suppress the less privileged around you. You have been given the blank cheque to ask; ask now because you need power to succeed in the journey of life. Jesus loves you.
