AFTER JESUS OR AFTER OTHER THINGS

Mark 1:17 (KJV) - And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

EXPOSITION

There is a clear difference between those who follow Jesus for what they can gain and those who follow Him with a sincere desire to do His will and advance His Kingdom. Many seek His hand, but few truly seek His heart.

Jesus knew this from the beginning, which is why He gave a powerful invitation: “Follow Me, and I will make you...” His promise reveals a divine principle, our responsibility is to genuinely come after Him, and His responsibility is to shape, mold, and make us into all He has ordained us to become.

When the desires of Jesus' heart are met through sincere surrender and wholehearted pursuit, He takes care of every other concern. He transforms lives, directs paths, and supplies all that is needed.

Are you seeking after Jesus Himself, or merely the things you hope to gain from Him?

COVENANT PRAYERS

1.  May your always desire Jesus the son of God now and always.

2.  May you not run after other things to abandon the master in Jesus name.

3.  May the lord find you trustworthy in Jesus name.

4.  The Lord take away from you the spirit of rebellion against His word in Jesus name
