THE BELIEVERS AUTHORITY

 The authority of believers over the devil begins at the very moment he or she surrenders to the Lordship of Jesus' name. Jesus said in His name, we shall cast out demons (Mark 16:17b) – this can only be achieved through our boldness, power and authority as believers.

The name of Jesus is more powerful than anything. The name of Jesus is higher than any other name and able to defeat all our enemies. Likewise, Proverbs 18:10 says; “the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it, and is safe”.

The bible says “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32) – Freedom here is talking about freedom from bondage, sickness, diseases, loneliness, depression, failure, disappointment, etc - which the devil has been inflicting on people.

Only knowledge acted upon brings results. The best way to be wiser than the devil is to always make use of the knowledge we have in the WORD. Hosea 4:6 says; my people perished because they lack knowledge. What is wisdom? Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge. A child going to school every day is expected to come back home having some traces or elements of what he or she has acquired. Failure to exhibit this can make the parent think otherwise (whether to change school or to stop the child from going to school). 

The knowledge of Christ is still very far away from so many people just because those of us who have been saved refused to do the needful. Also, the so-called believers are not doing the needful because the knowledge of Christ is not yet fully activated in us. Though we are trying but that is not still enough for God to be proud of us. I really need you to fully understand what we carry. The Word of God should have more meaning to us now than ever. 

We complain every day about things that are not going just as expected, we murmur, grumble and even cry – forgetting what the bible (God) says concerning that situation and what is expected of us. We allow the devil to operate and fail to use what belongs to us as believers.

Bible scholars made it known to us that the word FEAR NOT appeared in the Bible 365 times, which automatically explains to us that God is always with us from the beginning of each existing year till the very end.   

John 8:29 says; He who sent me is with me, He has not left me alone because I always do what pleases Him. The question we need to ask ourselves is, what do we need to do to please God? and the simple answer is by using what he has deposited in us which is ‘authority’. Remember the Parable of talent, the only servant that refused to use his talent was sent away. 

Proverbs 22:28 says; Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. It’s a pity today that people believe so much in the power of mere man than God. The Book of 1 Samuel 2:9 says; “He will keep the feet of His saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. Total Reliance on God’s power and excising the given authority will silence all demonic power. 

But the power that's in you is greater than the power that's in the world, because the power that backs our authority is greater than that which backs our enemies. 

Dear brothers and sisters, you and I need to wake up and stop giving the devil chances in our lives. Remember His word that says WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUEROR THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS US.
