I have practically observed many time that I see people in many program, especially program where youth are gathered; they cry, they speak in tongues, most of the time, there is always an evidence of the presence of God but the truth is, when you meet most of these youth in the street, schools or at their place of work, they are totally different to who you see during the church service or program.
I have asked myself this question many times: What is happening with the youth of my generation? The answer is one of the reasons for this message. When I study the book of Luke 13vs22-27, in verse 26 of the passage, the response they gave to the Lord shocked me, they said “we have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our street”. This is what is playing out among the youth and the young adults of this generation; this is what we have turned Christianity into in our own time. We are in the church, but Christ is not in us; we are in God’s presence, but we do not allow God to take over our lives.
We always eat and drink in the Holy Ghost; it is in this generation that you will see a person who can speak in the Holy Ghost for good seven hours straight or more, but their life in the street, school, and business world is against Christ-like. It is now that we see people who are sound in teaching and work of the kingdom, but when you see them outside, they will dress almost half naked; things or parts that need to be covered will be open for all to see, even in the church.
Like we have established in the first part of this message that Christianity is a journey, and one of the tools you need most in the journey is Sanctification (Holiness); this is the process of cleaning of oneself from all forms of stains that can hinder one from gaining access to God’s kingdom (Heaven) on the last day.
Holiness is the process of progressively and completely being cleansed. This is the second accomplishment of the grace which, through our faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ, is wrought after we have been justified and free from our sins or regenerated. John 17vs15-17, Ephesians 5vs25-27, 2 Corinthians 7vs1. Holiness should be part of your goals as a child of God, as gift of the Holy Spirit is important, you need to know that it is only in this world that you will need the gift of the Holy Spirit; the fruit of the Holy Spirit is what you need in this journey as a child of God that want to see God on the last day, which is why we are practically dissecting the word Holiness.
