For instance, Ammon lost his own life two years after he had satisfied the momentum pleasure with her Sister Tamar; he did so because of sexual pleasure and damaged her sister's destiny, and his own life also. 2 Samuel 13vs1-33. That singular transaction cost Ammon his life and brought trouble to his family. That is why you have to take your stand by not selling yourself or use yourself anyhow in this journey called life because of your tomorrow; what is after the number six is more than number seven. Do not let the situation now put your back on the ground.
As you journey in life, let your focus be on the gain and not on the pain. Hebrews 12vs1-2. The Lord Jesus Christ should be your perfect example. The Bible says he did not look at pains; his focus was on the gain of gaining the world for God. Let not the struggle and pain shift your attention from the glory ahead of you.
The more your attention is on the pain (Unpleasant situations you are going through), the more your attention will be shifting from your set goals in life. Let your pain now be the driving force that will propel you into achieving your set goals. Joseph in the Bible went through pains of betrayers, rejection, and slavery, but one thing is, he did not allow those pains to break him; he used pains as energy to achieve the God-given purpose and plans for his life. Focus on the gains, and the pains will naturally disappear.
Guiding your tongue is another thing that you must ensure you do in this journey called life. Your tongue is a treasure that can make or mar your life. Why you need to guide your tongue is because the power to become the man or woman of your dream is in your tongue; you have to be mindful of what you are saying to yourself, you have to watch what you are pronouncing on yourself and your future, so that you will not be imprisoning your glorious future. Proverbs 18vs21, Proverbs 21vs23, Psalms 52vs2.
Guiding your tongue will save you from falling into traps; when you talk too much, you will be unclothing yourself physically and spiritually. What people do not have to know about you will be revealed when you talk too much. Not guiding your tongue or talking too much will always cause delay because, in the process of your talking, you will not be able to think about the next action to take that will move your life forward. When you choose not to guide your tongue, you will be losing your relevance. Talking too much will drain your spiritual power. In this journey called life, as a youth and young adult, guiding your tongue is a virtue that you must have if you truly want to journey well in life.
CONCLUSION: We will stop here for now as we shall continue in the third part of this message but before then; do not forget that as a child of God, you are not excluded from challenges in life, but the edge you have over an unbeliever is that, you have Jesus Christ who overcame the challenges for you even before they presented themselves to you. All you need is to use your faith as a receipt to collect the victory Jesus bought for you on the cross of Calvary. Come to Jesus now, and you will see yourself well in the journey of life.
