A singer in Nigeria, West Africa, said in one of his songs some years back, “Nobody wants to die, but they want to go to heaven.” In other words, nobody wants to die, but they dream of going to heaven. This word brings us to our discussion today; many people, most especially Christians, are praying for a change of level or status, but many of us are not ready to pay the necessary price or go through the necessary requirements.

Many youth and children of God are jumping from one mountain to another seeking a way to change their status, many have because of the dream of a new level entered into a covenant and group where their glorious future and that of the generations that will come out of their loins had been mortgaged on the altar of the evil covenant in the process of changing levels.

Ruth faithfully followed Naomi her mother in law even when she lost everything and there was no hope of recovering for her in chapter one of the book of Ruth; but in chapters three and four of the same book of Ruth, our dear sister Ruth had a change of level, she encountered her new level that changed everything about her, and not only about her, the change of level also affected her mother in law positively. Ruth 3vs1-18, Ruth 4vs1-18

Ruth in the bible did not just have a change of level, she did not just experience that new level; she did some specific things that we will be looking at in this message; what are things you must do to have a change of level as youth who is a child of God?

  • Seek Godly Counsel: Ruth listens to good and Godly counsel from her mother-in-law. She does not start living in the ways of the world even when she has reasons to, but she waits patiently and follows the counsel given by her mother-in-law. Ruth 3vs1-6

Naomi said to her, wash yourself, anoint yourself, and put on good garments. If you truly want a new level, seek Godly counsel; you need to know that it is only in Jesus Christ that you can get the good and Godly counsel that will help your journey. This is because; there is no good counselor in the world like Jesus. Isaiah 9vs6, Proverbs 24vs6

  • Accepting good and Godly counsel: The truth is, there is a clear difference between seeking and accepting. One can seek or hear good and Godly counsel and one chooses not to accept them. Naomi gave Ruth good counsel, and she (Ruth) accepted it and put it into the act. Ruth 3vs6-12

The fact is, many have had the opportunity to listen to Godly counsel but they choose to do otherwise. If you truly want to launch into your new level; you have to accept and act on Godly counsel given to you because it is where your life will be secured. Proverbs 9vs9, Proverbs 1vs8-9

Stand up and act on the Godly counsel that you have because it is what you act on that will yield results for you. If you seek, and accept without acting, you will not get the expected result; and when there is no result, there will be no new level. James 1vs22, Luke 5vs1-7, Deuteronomy 28vs1-2

Looking at the spiritual meaning of the three main counsels Naomi gave to Ruth; she said to her, wash yourself, oil yourself, and put thy raiment upon thee. Ruth3vs3. These three counsels have a deep spiritual meaning that you need as a child of God if you truly want to have a change of level; they are what you need to carry as a spiritual being that is operating in the physical realm. Do not forget that the spirit controls the physical.
