As mentioned in the first part of this topic, until you have won on the battlefield of life before you can be given the title of a winner, and if you must be a winner, there are strategies that you must adopt. Just like what the book of Matthew 11vs12 says, from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force. But I want you to know that it is not only the kingdom of heaven that suffers violence; the kingdom of this earth does too, and it is only those who are ready to move with the company of the winners (Champions) that can survive the onslaught.
We have been able to look at the conditions to be on the winning side in the first part of this message, if you have not read it, you can search for it to have the full knowledge and understanding of what we are saying; because, in this part of the message, we will be looking at the attitudes of winners and some benefits of being on the winning side.
WHAT ARE THE ATTITUDES OF WINNERS?
Winners are always bold. This is a character you must possess if you must win on the battlefield of life. David exercised this character throughout his lifetime, he was a very bold boy and even when he became older, he still possessed that boldness of the winners. 1 Samuel 17vs34-37, Judges 14vs5-8.
If you want to be among the people who will take or taste the honey of life, you must be bold like Samson, you have to face the fear of life. Face it headlong and you will sing the victory song at the end. Your boldness is your strength and a special weapon in your hand as a winner on the battlefield of life. 1 Samuel 17vs38-51.
Winners are always persistent. Giving up is not in the DNA of winners, they do not always give up easily; they are persistent in all things. Genesis 32vs24-28. Jacob did not give up even when he had reason to give up. Genesis 32vs25. True winners will never stop at almost winning, they will not take no to an answer. Winners will keep on pushing (praying) until they get the expected breakthrough. They push until something happens. 1 Thessalonians 5vs17. You have to be persistent in all your dealings; do not give up, continue pushing until you get to the victory camp.
Winners are always submissive and obedient. You have to obey your commandants if you must survive on the battlefield. You must know that as a child of God, the day you get to the level where you obey whatever God says is the day overcome all. Deuteronomy 28vs1-2, Exodus 15vs26. When you are submissive and in total obedience to God’s words and instructions, he will turn your reproach to triumph. John 2vs1-11.
You must be submissive and be obedient not unto God alone; but to your parents, and to the elders and leaders around you, this is because as youth, your going far in life is mostly dependent on your submissiveness and your obedience in life.
Winners are always grateful. If you study the life of Samson very well in the book of Judges, there was never a time or a place where he recognized God as the one helping him until he was captured by his enemies; but when you look at David’s lifestyle, he always acknowledges God in all victories. If you go through the book of First Samuel chapter seventeen very well, you will discover that David kept referencing God in all his statements.
You do not have to get yourself involved in the mistakes the youth of this generation are making, they believe they are winning in education, science and technology, health, etc because they are skillful and intelligent without acknowledging the giver of wisdom and giver of life. If you must maintain your victory as a winner, you have to be grateful to God always. You can show your gratefulness through your attitude, giving, and reference to God at all time. John 3vs27, let it always be in your mind that whatever you have and whoever you will become in life is through God.
Winners are always heavenly-minded. To be a true winner who has been rooted in the camp of the champions, you have to be heavenly-minded by fixing your mind on the heavenly things. Every of your behavior here on earth must be that of the citizen of heaven. Colossians 3vs1-4.
You must live a life devoid of sins, you must act like Christ in all things, and you must daily apply the principles of the word of God into your daily activities, and be ruled by the Holy Spirit always. Hebrews 11vs14-16.
