Achieving obedience is a challenging but rewarding journey that starts with a close relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is essential that we refocus our attention in order to walk in compliance. We discover that we are more sensitive to and dedicated to carrying out God's will in our day-to-day lives.

Walking by the Spirit

Ultimately, walking by the Spirit is what it means to walk in obedience. The phrase "Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" sums up this fact in Galatians 5:16. Our inclination to satisfy our sensual cravings decreases as we submit ourselves more to the Holy Spirit. The hallmark of our everyday walk is unwavering submission to the Spirit's direction, enabling Him to guide us into all truth and righteousness.
