The Bible told us in John 16:33, that in this world we will have troubles, but we should be of good courage because He has overcome the world. This verse point to us that God will not always shield us from every troubles of this world, there are some He permits and this; for the purpose of growth.

God is committed to our spiritual growth as His children, He is not just raising us to meet our carnal needs, but He is seeking for Armies, who are brave and courageous, who will conform to the image of His son (Romans 8:29) the Bible said those He for new He predestinated to be conform to the image of His dear son that He (Jesus) may be the first born among many brethren.

Looking at the life of Jesus, how far have you gone in your Christian journey in conformity to the son? In that John 16:33, the Lord said He told us those things so that we can have peace in Him; there is something Jesus knew, there was a revelation He had that made Him to sleep amidst the storm that got the Apostles terrified. As children of God, our worship of God must goes beyond what He can do for us; yes He promised us all thing (Romans 8:32) said if He spared not His own son to die for us, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.

But He also told us we will need to be purified in the furnace of affliction (Isaiah 48:10). He even Jesus learn obedience through those things He suffered (Hebrews 5:8-9). If our Lord Jesus was being made perfect through suffering (Hebrews 5:9) and thereby became our author of salvation, how then can we run? James 1:2-4 told us to consider it all joy when we encounter various trials; knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience and by letting patience have her perfect work in us, we become mature and complete and be all that God wants us to be which is to conform to the image of the son.

Trials of faith and adversities are designed by God for our spiritual transformation and the formation of Christ in us. They are used to expose our imperfections and stripe us of our idols.

Trials, ordeals, afflictions, burdens, problem and whatever you call it are inevitable part of Christian journey, but how we handle them matter a lot when they occur. Yes they cause us much grieve and pain but it takes a spiritual perspective to find joy in them, or to be of good cheers and be at peace. Joy is more than an emotion; it’s a life changing mindset. It’s a deep sense of well-being that can sustain us through our pilgrim journey and this comes when we have a deep revelation of the fact that God has it all under control and they all works for our good. (Romans 8:28).

The present pain cannot be compare to the danger of not being formed, and the trials are not unbearable for you (1 Corinthians 10:13). Isaiah 43:1-2, God knows when enough is enough; He will bring a way of escape definitely.

Trying to sneak out of God-given growth opportunity is an expression of doubt. Resist the urge to escape, rather ask for wisdom and grace to navigate through it all. The best in you comes out when you are under pressure and you become better and matured.

Hold on, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5), the pain will not last, and the night season will soon weasel away. The joy of knowing the only true God and Jesus that He has sent (John 17:3) is incomparable to the pleasure of the world for pilgrim who really wants to Journey with the Lord. Receive grace to wait on the Lord and He will strengthen your heart. Psalms 27:14. (Other bible references: Proverbs 20:10, Ecclesiastes 7:14, Zachariah 13:9.
