THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE OR ADDICTION

Consciously refuse to compare yourself with others. Galatians 6vs4-5. This is one of the biggest problems of social media that is leading to pressure for many youths and young adults. The need to validate and compare success levels with other people has led to media pressure for many. Proverbs 1vs10. To avoid this, refuse the temptation to measure your success based on other people’s success; (1 Thessalonians 4vs11-12) because the result you will get might make it look like you are not yet achieving anything. Measuring your result with others via social media can lead to disappointment, which can result in ingratitude of what God has done for you. 2 Corinthians 10vs12.

Knowing your life purpose has a way of making your life and work more meaningful. Romans 8vs28, 1 Peter 2vs9. This will give you a sense of direction and something to look forward to in life; when this happens, you will be doing things you love online and offline instead of competing with others. Jeremiah 29vs11.

When you have found your purpose, everything else will flow to you; even when things get difficult, the fact that you are doing the thing you love will make it easier for you to push through. Job 42vs2.

No one shows you their very terrible side on social media; social media is showbiz. It is a platform where people socialize, create meaningful social circles, and show off their best stuff.

You have to see it for what it is if you will overcome the pressure that comes with it. Philippians 4vs6.

Refuse to be moved by what others are doing online, a lot of the things happening on this platform are not exactly what you think they are. Sometimes, people will consciously pretend to be who they are not, to create an impression. Proverbs 22vs24-25. You need to be more concerned about the impact you want to make within your circle and work around it anytime you are online or offline. James 3vs13-16.

You must know that social media is virtually a faceless forum where many people will have the liberty to say or do to you the things they cannot do or say in real life (Colossians 2vs16-18), which is why you have to learn to ignore the trolls and critics that comes from social media platforms.. 1 Corinthians 10vs10, Philippians 2vs14-16, Proverbs 15vs1.

If you must overcome the pressure of social media; try not to please anyone, when you try to please everyone, it will end in tears and depression. Ephesians 6vs6, John 12vs43. Focus on pleasing yourself, minding your business, advancing your work, and being with the people that matter to your success and goal.

Establish a specific time for using social media and limit the overall usage. This is because you may not readily realize you are having social media-induced concerns until you take time to review your social media-related activities and the state of your mental health.

Take periodic breaks from social media. Engage in activities that promote mindfulness, such as meditating, exercising, reading, or spending quality time with loved ones. It is important to do.
