We ask this question often. Do you think I have anything in me that could amount to greatness? Poor me I don’t have anything to offer, I think I should seat right here since I don’t belong there. You are like a door that people pass through, and you are the key that unlocks or locks your own door. How? It is the name you call yourself in the secret which will manifest in the open because it will surely reflect in your actions and your results.

You have all you need to push through in life since you became a child of the Kingdom none of us is without our Master’s DNA. You are destined for greatness, He worked hard for six days to put the planet in its best shape for you, and you have been given dominion since creation, this is the reason why we can write a book like this, titled ‘Go for It’. We are carriers of solutions, and it only takes knowledge to start walking in this reality.

When Israel encountered the Red Sea, the Egyptians were behind them, but they lifted up their voice not to God, but to complain;

“Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians?' For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the desert” Exodus 14:12 NIV.

Human nature wants to complain about everything than take responsibility. Moses had the solution to the situation on the ground, i.e. the Red Sea, but he himself didn’t understand what he possessed until he cried out to God, God what do I have to do to pass over this sea?  In other words, I am not capable of leading these people, why did you even lead us through this path? If you are the all-knowing God you should have known ahead that there is the Red Sea ahead of us. Every one of us gets to this stage either in marriage, at work, or even with our children and others.

God responded to Moses promptly;

“And the LORD said to Moses, "Why do you cry to me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”  Exodus 14:15-16 KJV.

You also have the solution to that stuff confronting you, lift up your voice to God and listen to his response, and it will amaze you.

God will never tell you to use what you don’t have; He will make use of the little you have. When Isaac had not been given birth to, God didn’t ask for him but when he was born, God demanded for him. In other words, don’t look out there for a solution, first, ask God to show you where the solution lies, it will help you to get out of it quickly.

Where many people go wrong in trying to reach their goals is when they constantly look forward to hitting it big, the home run, the magic answer that suddenly transforms their dreams into reality bye-passing all processes. The problem is that the big hit never comes without instances of consistent little hits. Success in most things comes not from some gigantic stroke of fate, but from simple, incremental progress.

Elisha asks the widow do you have anything at home to get you out of debt. She didn’t think she had something to the extent of trivializing the little bottle of oil in her house. She said, my husband’s creditor will soon take away my two sons, if I had something reasonable will I come to you? I think I have a small bottle of oil and that is your solution and breakthrough. You think you can sell one of your cars to start that business, you made the right decision, or “should I cut down my expenses? You got it.” We should build on what we earn and not on loans. We should cultivate a habit of saving. This is one of the things I meant by the small bottle of oil in your house.”

The Bible says;

“So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil. Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors-empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones. So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest." 2 King 4:2-7.

I learned to focus on my area of strength no matter what people tell me. I don’t dabble in things when I know it is not within the reach of my ability. Each time you want to tell people that you don’t think you are effective in certain areas, they stylishly call you a failure, you can go one step higher than them by telling them you will think about it.  What I will do is put my entire energy to work in the area of my strength to gain the required result. Stop wasting your effort and time on where your strength is not. We can never be an all-rounder, it is only possible for us to be a specialist. You will achieve it by focusing on your area of strength and ability.

We are at the age where parents send their children to school to fulfill their dreams and desires, not the child’s dreams. I mean most parents choose what their children should study not what the children wish to study. Many of our parents could not fulfill the ambitions that they have nursed in their hearts since their younger days, so they wanted it to become the life pursuits of their children.

Dear readers, God has invested so much in you and me, and He is expecting us to come back to Him with good results. It is my prayer that we will not fail God in our various assignments in Jesus’ name.
