In the book of the beginning, it was recorded that Abraham was a special friend of God; the friendship was so special to the extent that God made a nation out of Abraham. In the book of Genesis chapter twelve verses one to three, God told Abraham that he should leave his father’s house (country) unto a land that He will show him. God said; “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 12vs2-3).

The above was the great blessings and promises that God had with Abraham. Before that promises came to pass, Abraham made some errors that almost cost him the promises of God for his life. The instruction that God gave to Abraham was to get out of his country, and from his kindred, and from his father’s house, unto a land that He (God) will show him; but Abraham did not follow the instruction of God to the fullness, the Bible says he took Lot his brother’s son along even when the instruction says, leave your kindred. Abraham disobeyed and he launched out with Lot.

The above is the situation that many Christians are in today. We are just walking about with so many unwanted loads; we have allowed Lot to attach himself with us, and as a result of this we are struggling. The promises of God are just entering into voice mail, the prophecies have become a mirage just because of our association with Lot.

WHAT ARE THE THINGS WE CAN REFER TO AS LOT IN OUR LIFE TODAY?

  • Wrong Association: Association is good because your friends can be the helping hand when you need it. For instance, in the story of the paralytic man in the book of Mark; The Bible says his friends carried him to see Jesus but when they could not enter the hall because of the crowd, they went through the roof by opening up the roofing sheet of the hall (House) where Jesus was preaching (Mark 2 vs 2-5). The man has good associates and it helped his destiny. The evil associates that you are keeping cannot take you anywhere. Lot was a wrong associate to Abraham that almost cost him the promise of God (Genesis 13 vs 5-12).

The truth is, until you let go of every evil and wrong associate that you are keeping, the promise of God may not come into fulfillment and peradventure the promise come to pass, you may not enjoy it for long or with peace (Amos 3 vs 3). There is nothing you want to gain in that evil association than wasting away your destiny; why not sit back and think of your tomorrow? Check if your associate will take you somewhere good, if not, it is better you discard them now!

  • Wrong Environment: Another thing Abraham was told was to leave behind is his country but the in fifth verse of Genesis chapter twelve says, Abraham took his wife Sarah, his nephew Lot, all the people he had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land. The people that went out of the land of Haran represent the country (Environment) that God had asked Abraham to leave. This is because, as these people launched out with Abraham, they will go along with their culture and their gods, and this is one of the reasons God asked Abraham to leave in the first place because God wanted to make him a holy nation unto himself.

If you must fulfill purpose and achieve that which God has in plans for your life, you have to leave your environment. The environment in this context are the small gods such as drugs, cultism, prostitution, internet scamming, pornography, alcoholism, masturbation and other things that can damage your glorious future. If you continue to romance all the above-mentioned behavior, they will give you into the hands of your enemies; this is because they are evil in the sight of God and such will usually hand one over into the hand of the enemies (destruction). (Judges 6vs1-6).

The children of Israel got their deliverance from the hand of the Midianites when Gideon tore down the altar of Baal and cut down the Asherah pole in his father’s house before he could defeat Midianites in battle (Judges 6vs25-40, Judges 7vs7-25).

As a youth, and as a Christian who is a true child of God, you have to cut yourself off all these environmental evils, you have to separate your way from the Lot that is holding down your life at a spot, you have to let go of all these bad behaviors that are standing and operating in your life as Lot.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF MOVING WITH LOT?

  • God Will Be Silent: If you are still walking about with the Lot in your life, God will be silent about your case and life. Just like in the case of Abraham, immediately he went out with Lot from his father’s country, God did not say anything or reveal anything to him again until he parted ways with Lot in the thirteenth chapter of that book of Genesis (Genesis 13vs14-18).

God gave Abraham reassurance of his promises to him after Lot has departed. As a youth and a child of God, you have to dissociate yourself from that Lot in your life in order for you to enjoy great communion with God and in order for you to begin to hear him (God) clearly.

  • There Will Be delay of Prophecies and Promises: I know that God has said many positive things about you through his word (Bible), through his servants, through your dreams and the one He dropped in your sub-consciousness but the truth is; many of these promises are being delayed all because you are yet to let go of the Lot in your hand.

The word of God says we cannot continue in sin and say grace should abound; the Bible says, God forbid (Romans 6vs1-2). You cannot continue in masturbation and doing drugs or cultism and say God should bless you, if you want God to fulfill His promises in your life, you have to let go of all these evil acts in your hand. Then will your blessings come in time and you will enjoy a deeper relationship with God.

  • There Will Be Struggling Without Achievement and Direction: Until Abraham let go of Lot, he couldn’t get the direction of the land where God wanted him to be (Genesis 13vs8-12).

You have to let go of this lot in your life if you want to struggle no more. You have to let go of all these evil that is making God angry with you before you can achieve purpose in life. God loves you, he has deposited and invested so much into you for you not to be a failure in life but there is a need for you to let go of sin in your life in order for you to achieve your purpose in life. You have to stop womanizing for you not to remain in that struggling state in the journey of destiny. If you truly want direction, why not let go of this lot in your life?

  • There Will Be No Peace: “And Abraham said unto Lot, let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we be brethren.” (Genesis 13vs8).

The presence of Lot in your life will not allow you to enjoy peace. If you search down your heart, you will discover that since the day you have joined that gang in your community or in your school, you have not been enjoying peace of mind; you are always afraid of the attack of the rival group, and you have always watched your back in fear all because you are now a member of that gang or cult group. Let go of these people for you to enjoy the peace that passes all understanding (John 14vs27, Romans 8vs6, and Romans 14vs19).

In Conclusion, Maybe you are not happy with the kind of life you are living or you have been struggling to let go of the Lot in your life and all that you have tried proved abortive, I am glad you are reading this message today because you have gotten to the place where the solution will come.

All you need to do is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and tell him to forgive all your sins, after which you can now cry to him (Jesus Christ) for help. Tell him about the Lot in your life and tell him to give you grace and power with boldness to separate yourself from your lot.

Come to Jesus today before it will be too late, ask him to save you from the influence of Lot (sins) totally today. I pray for you that as you do, the Lord will show you mercy and he will save you in Jesus name.
