Looking up brings hope and opportunities but when your attention is down, it means you have given up on yourself and your situation. When you look up, it means you are looking up to God for help and supply. Psalms 121 vs1-2

You have to stop looking down on yourself and stop looking at the hands of men for your supply and resources. The true help that will not fail and that can never fail is in God. His desire above everything else is for you to enjoy help in full measure in the size himself. 3 John 1vs2. His heartbeat is that you prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prosper, all these can only come through when you look up unto Him for help.

Your protection and guidance are in him only when you look up to him for help. The Psalmist says “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose against us: then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth”. Psalms 124vs1-8

With the above Bible passage, there is no way you will look up to God and still be frustrated or defeated; God is the all-sufficient One. He is the divine mother’s breast that never lacks breast milk for his children. He said he will supply all your needs according to his riches. Philippians 4vs19

Looking up is expecting help; it means having more promotion and satisfaction in all things. It means telling God that you do not have the capacity or ability to help your situation; it means telling him that you believe all power has been given to him to help you: and to help you to make wealth. Deuteronomy 8vs18. Looking up is expecting help; it is asking for help. Psalms 124vs8

WAYS THROUGH WHICH HELP CAN COME

You need to understand that a man who thinks he can help himself will not call for help; a man who has the mindset that he is more than enough will never look up for help. Someone who thinks he has the right connection and sources of supply will never run to God for help and will never believe the help in the name of the Lord. Before one can look for help, one needs to have the mindset and believe that God is the only one who can help or the only one who can send helpers to one.

You need to understand that help can only come from God to man. Psalms 46vs1 and 5. God is the present help in the season of trouble. The greatest help to man can only be found in God, and the help can only be touched or received when you look up to God for it.

No matter what the situation is, or what you are going through, God is the only one who has the right help. Looking at your associates or friends for help will not bring the right help because if God does not help them, they cannot help you. You have to understand that if God chooses not to help you, nobody can or will help you. It is the person that God touches that can help you. True help comes from God; look up to him.

Help can come from man to God through our giving. Malachi 3vs10. The widow at Zarephat is a very good example of help coming from man to God through giving.

The man asked the woman (widow) to do his own first, the woman did as instructed, and blessings were pronounced. 1 Kings 17vs 7-16. The situation here is like a farmer who did not plant during the sowing season but wants to harvest. The woman propelled her help through giving. Luke 6vs38 says “Give, and it shall be given unto you”, which means one of the conditions for receiving help is to give. If you do not give anything to the land, you cannot receive anything from it. When you give corn to the land, it’s going to give you maize in return. If you must receive help from God, you must know how to give to God by giving to his work. When you use what you have to do the work of God, either directly or indirectly, it means you are helping God in his work.

Help can come from man to fellow man. Exodus 23vs5, Deuteronomy 22vs4.  The truth is, every human being needs help. Luke 10vs40. This understanding must be in you; but the reality is, the areas in which we all need help differ, and that is why it must be identified before the correct or true help can be rendered.

Do not look down on anybody because if God will help you, he will surely use somebody. If God has to send an angel to help you, that angel will surely come in the form of a man. You have to give respect and honour to everyone even those that you think are far below you because they may be instrumental to the receiving of that help you need.

HOW CAN YOU RECEIVE HELP?

You can receive help by crying to the person to whom you need his help. Psalms 60vs11. There is this belief in advertising, if you do not announce your whereabouts, nobody will know you are there. One of the ways through which you can receive help is to cry out to the one who can help you. You cannot keep quiet and expect help to come your way. You need to ask for it. Matthew 7vs7-8

You can receive help by walking in humility and by patiently waiting to receive help from the one who can help you. Matthew 15vs22-28. It is so funny to see many attitudes of many youths these days; they are so proud and arrogant to the level of frustrating the hands of their helpers.

Because of pride and lack of patience, as a result, many have damaged their glorious future. If you must receive help, you need to be humble and patient. The Bible says, God gives grace unto the humble and resist the proud. James 4vs6

A proud man will never be patient and humble to receive from his or her helper. Also, many need help but because they are proud in their spirit and in their character, those that supposed to help them will think they are okay. If you are in this situation and you know you need that help urgently, you should come down from your horseback and ask for help.

The Canaanite woman did not allow her person or tribe to deny her of the help she needed, she humbly asked even when she was told she wasn’t qualified to receive; she asked in humility and patience, and she received more than the crumbs she asked for. Mark 7vs25-30

You can receive help by knowing the one who is capable of helping you and by going or trusting in his person. Psalms 33vs17-22

The Psalmist says, some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalms 20vs7. You need to know and trust the capacity of God that can help you, and that he will help. Psalms 115vs9-11. Putting your confidence in man can damage your peace of mind because vail is the help of man. Psalms 118vs9, Psalms 125vs1.

You need to know that God is the all-sufficiency who has the capacity and ability to help you without reproach attached. Trust Him with all your heart and rely not on your understanding, skills, knowledge, or connection because all these can fail but God will not. Proverbs 3vs5

You can receive help by seeking the person who has what you need and by asking. Psalms 70vs5, Psalms 141vs1, Psalms 22vs19. There is this saying in my mother’s tongue that, it is he who is sick that goes to the doctor, not the doctor that will be looking or running after him that is sick. If you truly need help, you need to ask for it. Matthew 7vs7-8. If you need help, encourage yourself to ask because if you choose not to ask, people will believe you are okay. Stand up, look up, ask, and believe that you will receive. Matthew 21vs22. The truth is, looking up alone is not the automatic solution but as you look up, you have to ask because he had promised that as you said in his ears so will he do.

When you help others, it brings promotion and success. 1 Thessalonians 5vs12-15. When you help someone, you have directly or indirectly motivated him to help others. Looking after the person who looks up to you makes worthless fellows important in front of man and of God. God is counting on you for help because when you help others, you are helping God. Helping others gives you room to grow physically and spiritually. Romans 8vs26a

You have to understand that looking up or seeking help from a person who cannot render help is dangerous. Isaiah 10vs1-4. It is dangerous also when you look down on people by thinking they cannot help you; because God uses men, and men use methods. That is, if God will help you, he will use man but if man will help you, he will use method.

But, that does not mean you should put your trust in man because man can fail but God will not. Isaiah 31vs1

CONCLUSION

It is dangerous for you to be envying that person that God had sent to help you. When you forsake Jesus Christ who is the help of the helpless, it is dangerous. If you continue walking or working in wickedness or in a way that does not please God, it is dangerous for your living.

You need to know that your help is not in any man Isaiah 2vs22, but in God; and you can only look up to access that help when you trust and accept His Son Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior. Isaiah 2vs2-3, Hebrew 2vs18. Jesus is the only one who can tender your case before God; you have to connect to him by surrendering yourself to his Lordship and you will begin to receive timely help as you look up.
