Baby Christians who refuse to grow love to measure themselves by themselves. They compare themselves to others instead of growing; they measure themselves against others. They are quick to say, “at least I am better than him or her,” or “I am not as bad as they are.” They will never take the time to identify the areas where their lives need improvement. You need to know that your growth stops when comparison replaces transformation.2 Corinthians 10:12.
Baby Christians love results without effort; they are spiritually lazy. They are inconsistent in prayer, have no commitment to study, and lack spiritual discipline. They are still attached to worldly values because they love the world and its systems. They usually prefer entertainment to the edification of souls. You need to know that spiritual laziness will keep you in your infancy; that is why you have to be disciplined and detach yourself from the world system. Proverbs 6:9-11, 1 John 2:15.
Babies who refuse to grow love to seek miracles more than maturity; they are always chasing prophecies, signs, and wonders, but they always avoid the process of growth. They want God’s hand but not his nature (they are breakthrough seekers). They are easily distracted; they lack spiritual focus; they have no stability in faith because they love jumping from one doctrine (Miracle service) to another. You need to know that distractions suffocate growth. Luke 8:14, John 6:26.
Baby Christians who refuse to grow are proud and unteachable. They think they know it all; they are not teachable. They think they already know enough; they are resistant to learning and defensive when corrected. James 4:6. Babies Christian who refuses to grow is the one who does not want anyone to question his life; no spiritual oversight and no submission to authority. Hebrews 13:17. They have forgotten that isolation preserves immaturity. They hold on to offenses; they are always harboring resentment in their heart. Hebrews 12:15. Do not forget that bitterness blocks spiritual growth, and pride is the greatest enemy of your growth.
Christians who are babies are inconsistent in their walk with God; they desire titles without transformation. Their spiritual life is unstable; they are on fire today, tomorrow they are cold. They always crave validation from men; they want recognition without growth; they are position seekers in the church. James 1:8, Matthew 23:6-7. Do not forget that maturity seeks character, not titles; seeking titles and public honor will not take you anywhere; your spiritual inconsistency will keep you at the baby level. Please stand up and grow up.
A Christian infant that refuses to grow up will always ignore the conviction of the Holy Spirit; they repeatedly silence the voice of God, delaying obedience and justification of their sins is another character trait they always portray. They have forgotten that ignoring conviction keeps them spiritually stunted. They are quick to speak but slow to learn; they talk more than they listen. They are always arguing and trying to prove a point. James 1:19. They have forgotten that growth comes through listening, and not through arguing.
They focus only on external Christianity; their faith is outward, not inward. They always attend church but are not transformed; they believe so much in religious activities without spiritual depth.2 Timothy 3:5. They have forgotten that their appearance is not maturity.
Christian babies give up easily in trials. They lack endurance; they always quit when things get hard; they always doubt God in adversity; they always have a plan B for everything; they have forgotten that in this kingdom, trials are tools for growth, yet they still run from them.
A believer who refuses to grow will remain carnal, they will be spiritually weak, and they will miss divine purpose; such a Christian will be vulnerable to deception. Christian babies who refuse to grow have the same belief system about scripture and the things of God. They prefer milk over meat. They only like simple, comforting messages, prosperity without process, and grace without responsibility. Hebrews 5:13. Such believers resist deep truths of God’s word; when deeper doctrine comes, they say this is too hard or too much. They avoid teaching that challenges them; they have forgotten that growth demands stretching.
A believer who refuses to grow is the one who will misinterpret the message of grace. He will take grace to mean no discipline, no consequences for their actions, and no growth is required, as long as they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They lack discernment; they cannot distinguish between truth and error, sound doctrine and false teaching. Hebrews 5:14.
Many of these kinds of Christians refuse to grow because they enjoy their comfort zone. They prefer convenience over transformation. They have forgotten that growth is uncomfortable; someone who always feels comfortable is not ready for growth.
Another reason they refuse to grow is because of their pride and lack of spiritual discipline. They think they already know enough, forgetting that the day a man stops learning, the day he starts dying. They lack a study life, a prayer life, and their obedience is zero. They love wrong teaching more than the truth; whenever they hear the true word of God, it becomes an attack to them.
